There is no registration fee; however, as a key fundraising event for JDRF, teams taking part in the Team Ride are encouraged to raise a minimum suggested amount of $750 per team or $150 per individual. The average amount raised per team is $970.

We’re confident that every participant can reach the $150 fundraising level, and are pleased to offer support and advice so you can exceed this target! Across Canada, the Ride events are expected to raise $4.2 million to help support critical diabetes research. Those who reach or exceed the $150 amount will be eligible for fundraising rewards.

A:

While we encourage each participant to fundraise a minimum suggested amount of $150, we recognize that some teams will choose to fundraise as a team. The minimum suggested team fundraising amount is $750. Please note, however, that fundraising rewards are awarded based on pledged revenue raised by individual participants only (not team fundraising or corporate matched revenue).

A:

Fundraising rewards are awarded based on individual fundraising. For example, if a participant raises $150 and they are part of a team that raises an additional $600 in team fundraising activities such as bake sales, dress down days, etc., the participant is only entitled to receive fundraising rewards for the $150 raised as an individual.

A:

Participants who submit $150 or more are eligible to receive fundraising rewards as outlined on the pledge form or on the Ride website. There is one prize per participant and all funds must be submitted on Ride day or within three weeks of your Ride event day. Participants are encouraged to bring all monies on Ride day to reduce costs.

No. The Ride is high energy, so you need to set a pace that you are comfortable with; otherwise it could present a health risk. There is a one-minute cool down for each rider, as well as an opportunity for warm ups to ensure healthy and safe fun.

A:

Yes! If someone from your team cancels, look for a substitute rider. Bring the original rider’s pledge form and dollars raised to the Ride. At registration, the substitute rider will need to indicate in whose place they are riding.

Alternatively, a team with four riders could have someone ride twice. All substitute riders must sign a waiver form to participate.

A:

If necessary, two riders could split a ride period to participate in the event. Every member of the team should raise funds.
